Networking in Chile

IP transit runs at both Santiago data centers, blended across carriers and handed to Chilean eyeball networks through PIT Chile. The useful property of transit bought in Santiago is that it faces two ways: east through Brazil onto the Atlantic systems, and west onto the cables that come ashore on the Chilean coast.

Private connectivity is covered by Cloud Connect and Cloud WAN, each available from one of the two facilities. Cloud Connect moves traffic to public cloud platforms over dedicated circuits instead of the public internet, which is how most regulated Chilean workloads reach the cloud regions they depend on. Cloud WAN places Santiago on Zenlayer's software-defined backbone, on the same fabric as the company's Asian and North American markets.

Colocation in Chile

Edge colocation is available from one of Zenlayer's two Santiago data centers, for customers who want to run their own hardware next to managed compute and transit rather than instead of it. A cabinet there can be cross-connected to the transit and private connectivity Zenlayer already operates in the metro, which is the usual reason teams choose it over shipping servers to an unfamiliar local provider.
