Zenlayer and STT GDC Deepen Partnership to Accelerate Interconnectivity Across Southeast Asia

22 July 2025 – Since the announcement of their strategic partnership in December last year, Zenlayer and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) have made significant progress in transforming Southeast Asia’s digital infrastructure. By jointly enabling seamless interconnection across key markets, the two companies are delivering critical capabilities to support the region’s surging demand for digital services, AI workloads, and hybrid cloud deployments.

Zenlayer has successfully deployed high-performance network infrastructure connecting four major STT GDC facilities: STT Singapore 5, STT Bangkok 3, STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 1, and STT Makati in Metro Manila. Through Zenlayer’s backbone network, STT GDC now offers their Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) service across these sites, allowing customers to move data securely and efficiently between countries.

This connectivity empowers businesses with low-latency access to regional hubs, accelerates application performance, and simplifies cross-border operations—whether for AI inference, SaaS delivery, or enterprise expansion.

A Strong Foundation: STT GDC’s Leadership in SEA

STT GDC’s unique strengths make it a valuable partner in building digital ecosystems. As the first international operator with data center facilities in all six major Southeast Asian economies, STT GDC offers over 500MW of capacity in the region and a consistent presence across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The company is also a regional leader in sustainability, having pledged carbon-neutral operations by 2030 and already achieving over 78% renewable energy usage. Moreover, its NVIDIA DGX-Ready certified data centres are equipped to support the latest generation of GPU-powered workloads, including NVIDIA’s Blackwell chips, with advanced cooling technologies.

Zenlayer: Scaling Connectivity at the Edge

As the world’s first hyperconnected cloud, Zenlayer connects data centers, cloud providers, and services around the world through its high-performance, software-defined network. With more than 300 Points of Presence (PoPs) across 50+ countries, including deep coverage in high-growth regions such as Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, Zenlayer bridges the infrastructure gap between major digital hubs and underserved markets. This expansive network allows businesses to deploy applications closer to their users, drastically reduce latency, and achieve faster time-to-market in new regions.

Through the partnership with STT GDC, Zenlayer expands its regional footprint, enabling customers to access a broader range of deployment options across Southeast Asia. With Zenlayer’s software-defined networking (SDN) backbone now integrated into more locations, customers benefit from faster, more flexible interconnection between regional markets—especially in emerging economies like Vietnam and the Philippines.

Delivering Value Across the Ecosystem

Global enterprises expanding into Southeast Asia now have access to a seamless, scalable network fabric that connects regional data centers and cloud platforms. This infrastructure reduces complexity for hybrid cloud deployments and ensures consistent performance across borders.

Emerging cloud and SaaS providers can quickly enter new markets with minimal capital investment, using Zenlayer’s on-demand networking and STT GDC’s distributed data center footprint to scale as needed.

AI-native startups and tech-driven businesses benefit from infrastructure that is optimized for GPU workloads and edge inference. With direct access to high-performance compute across Southeast Asia, these companies can deploy AI services faster, closer to users, and at lower latency.

Carriers and ISPs gain a valuable interconnect option through DCI, diversifying their services and offering enterprise-grade cross-border connectivity with improved resilience and network redundancy.

Looking Ahead

Zenlayer and STT GDC are just beginning to unlock the full potential of their partnership. As digital transformation accelerates across Southeast Asia, this partnership lays the groundwork for a new generation of cloud-native, AI-powered, and edge-optimized infrastructure. Together, the two companies are building not just connected data centers but a more agile and interconnected digital future for the region.
